Melantrich Palace I Prague 1 I 2015 I REICO Investment GAMA a.s.

Reconstruction and revitalization of the Melantrich Palace on Wenceslas Square. The design of a new front facade, glass roof in the atrium and the interior of the public areas bringing Palace into a condition that corresponds to such an important monument from the era of Geometric Art Nouveau. During the rehabilitation of the facade, a detailed analysis of the original proposal from 1913 was carried out. The result is an elegant all-glass facade that "exposes" the supporting pillars on both floors and supports the tectonic nature of the building, where the upper mass of the heavy geometric facade with plaster is supported by visible massive pillars behind the glass of the ground floor. The new roofing of the atrium made of triangular profiles does not deny the inspiration of Art Nouveau, which is found in the form of a discreet geometric pattern on the original facade. The spirit of Art Nouveau has also penetrated the interior spaces, where it is used in material and graphic form.
